About the Ministry

 Rev Dr.  Tom Bush was ordained as a non stipendery minister in September 1987 and served as an assistant minister to both the Dawlish and Teignmouth United Reformed Churches. On retiring from his full time post at Plymouth University in 2003 he spent a year working in the USA in Wisconsin where he served the UCC church in Boscobel as a part time minister whilst teaching at Marquette University, Milwaukee. On returning to the UK  in 2005 he was made the minister at Teignmouth. Whilst working  for the church as a part time minister he also has posts in the Czech Republic where he advises on work with people with learning disabilities. He has also written and contributed to many books, His latest book being on the Psychology of Religion. Tom is married and lives with his wife Jackie in Dawlish. They have two grown up children and a delightful grandson as well as a delightful step grand daughter, Hannah. Tom takes service for us twice a month, usually on the second and third Sundays.

 

 Sam Arnot joined the congregation in 1998 and although retired he has never been busier.  Sam and his wife Jean are Ex African Missionaries. Sam runs the Tuesday afternoon group which is an art group that make fine decorations for the church. He also runs the lunchtime prayer group during the week. he also takes service for us once a month and the occassional Bible study
